You're here with Eddie Craig, it's the Voice of Defiance interview.
Q: WHAT DOES “NEVER CONFORM, ALWAYS EVOLVE” MEAN FOR YOU?
Never conforming and always evolving is so important in the music industry.
If we never evolved, then we wouldn't have new technology, we wouldn't have new ways of pushing the music.
If you always conform, you're always trying to be the same as someone else, we'll never push the boundaries of excellence further.
Q: WHY ARE YOU A VOICE OF DEFIANCE?
I'm a voice of defiance because I represent the people that are all about the music, all about coming together.
We're defying anyone that wants to stop that.
Q: WHAT’S ONE WAY YOU HAVE DEFIED THE ODDS?
One way I defied the odds was when my teacher at school said, you will never, ever make it in music.
And I sat in my bedroom at home and I practiced and I practiced and I practiced till I got to the stage of international success.
Q: WHAT’S THE HARDEST CHOICE YOU’VE HAD TO MAKE?
The hardest choice I had to make was to not let anything stand in the way of the love of music.
Q: WHAT LESSON DO YOU LIVE BY?
The lesson I live by is honour, truth and giving 100% to push the boundaries.
Q: WHO OR WHAT SHAPED YOUR APPROACH?
The thing I would say that shaped me most is the founding members of the early rave scene in the UK.
In the very early 1990s, it was about pushing it further and having more of an underground scene that came up from the streets.
Voice of Defiance. Are you here from the start?
