It means never settling. Music, life, creativity—everything moves forward, and you either move with it or get left behind. We’ve always pushed ourselves to try new things, work with new artists, and evolve our sound while staying true to who we are. Growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone and taking risks.

Q: WHY ARE YOU A VOICE OF DEFIANCE?

Because we never took the easy route. Sigma came up through relentless graft, making our own opportunities when doors weren’t opening for us. We’ve faced criticism, industry changes, and the usual doubters along the way, but we kept pushing, kept believing. Defiance isn’t about shouting the loudest—it’s about proving people wrong by doing what you love and doing it well.

Q: WHAT’S ONE WAY YOU HAVE DEFIED THE ODDS?

Starting out as DJs in a niche scene and taking it to the biggest festival stages, platinum records, and global tours—none of that was meant to happen. Drum and bass wasn’t supposed to break into the mainstream the way it did, and certainly not on the scale we managed. Every milestone we’ve hit is another example of proving people wrong.

Q: WHAT’S THE HARDEST CHOICE YOU’VE HAD TO MAKE?

Balancing personal life with the demands of a music career. The travel, the late nights, the constant movement—it can be tough to maintain relationships and normality. Choosing this path means sacrificing a lot, but at the end of the day, music is what drives us.

Q: WHAT LESSON DO YOU LIVE BY?

Success isn’t about the big moments—it’s about the work you put in when no one’s watching. The early mornings in the studio, the gigs where no one knows your name, the setbacks that make you question everything. It’s those moments that define you, not the ones where everyone’s clapping.

Q: WHO OR WHAT SHAPED YOUR APPROACH?

The friendship between me and Joe. We’ve been through everything together—highs, lows, wins, losses. It’s like a brotherhood. We rely on each other, push each other, and won’t stop no matter what. That’s the foundation of Sigma, and it’s why we’re still here.
